ON1 has released their brand-new ON1 Photo RAW 2019 photo editing software. This subscription-free editor includes many new features, including a faster workflow, integrated layer support, AI-powered Lightroom migration tools and much more.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the new features in ON1 Photo RAW 2019. The faster workflow comprises a unified workspace, with all modules combined into a single place. In addition to a faster workspace, there’s a new workflow for layers. Non-destructive layer editing can now be accessed inside of Develop and Effects tabs. You can see both these new features in action in the videos below.

While there are many new features, including a new text tool, a layered HDR workflow, focus stacking, auto-aligning layers, improved filter options and much more, as far as photo editing improvements are concerned, two of the big additions are a new portrait tab for processing and retouching portraits and improved local adjustments. Regarding portrait editing, ON1 Photo RAW 2019 can automatically detect faces and will retouch skin to be smoother, brighten eyes and whiten teeth. With respect to local adjustments, the latest version of Photo RAW allows local adjustments which utilize raw processing data, meaning that you get a wider tonal range and better detail recovery in shadow and highlight areas of your images. Both of these are featured in the videos below.

ON1 has created numerous videos overviewing many of the other new features in the software listed above, which you can view by clicking here. Regarding pricing, ON1 Photo RAW 2019 is a one-time purchase, meaning there’s no monthly subscription fee like there is with Adobe Lightroom. This one-time fee is $79.99 for existing ON1 Photo RAW users and $99.99 for first-time customers. Through November 17, if you purchase the software, you get free educational content, which will help you learn more about the software. There’s also a 30-day free trial available.
