Antigravity has introduced a new bundle for its A1 360-degree drone, about a year after the drone’s launch. The new Follow Me bundle includes several accessories designed to make filming yourself easier, including a wrist-worn remote, a ring controller, and a high-capacity battery.
Watch Remote Enables Hands-Free Drone Tracking
The Follow Me bundle includes the Watch Remote, which lets users control the drone from their wrist. The A1 tracks its subject visually and uses the watch’s built-in GPS to help keep the user in the frame.
The Watch Remote features a 1.7-inch display for viewing a live feed from the drone’s camera. Users can also start and stop recording, switch video modes, and select which subjects the drone should track. The A1 supports a maximum tracking speed of 10 meters per second.
Ring Remote Adds Gesture-Based Flight Controls
The bundle also includes the Ring Remote, which enables gesture-based control through the drone’s Drag-to-Fly mode. Users can point in a direction and press a button on the ring to guide the A1, using arm movements to control its position.
For example, raising a hand above the head makes the drone follow the user from behind, while moving an arm from side to side commands a pan. A twisting motion sends the drone away from the user to capture more of the surrounding environment.
Both the Watch Remote and Ring Remote carry an IP67 rating, offering protection against dust and water ingress for use in suitable outdoor and water-based activities.
High-Capacity Battery Increases Takeoff Weight
Beyond the two remotes, the Follow Me bundle includes a set of propeller guards designed to fully enclose the blades, an extra set of propellers, a crossbody bag, and a USB-C charging cable. It also comes with a new high-capacity battery.
The larger battery increases the drone’s takeoff weight to 351g. That is a notable difference from the standard A1 bundle, which has a takeoff weight of 249g. The added weight may affect registration requirements and other operating rules in some regions.
In the US, for example, recreational drones weighing 250g or more generally need to be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), unless an exception applies. In the European Union, drones weighing more than 250g are subject to additional requirements under the applicable drone regulations.
Antigravity A1 Records 8K 360-Degree Video
The A1 can record 8K video at 30 frames per second, capturing 360-degree footage through its dual cameras. Each camera uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor and an f/2.2 lens. Because the drone records the surrounding scene, users can choose their preferred framing during post-production.
The Follow Me bundle does not include Antigravity’s Vision Goggles, helping keep its price below that of the standard A1 bundle. Existing A1 owners can also purchase the Follow Me accessories separately.
Antigravity A1 Follow Me Bundle: Pricing and Availability
The Antigravity A1 Follow Me bundle costs $799 and is available through the Antigravity online store and B&H Photo.
For comparison, the standard A1 bundle is priced at $1,599, while the Follow Me accessories are available separately for $339.99.
