Why We Like the Insta360 Ace Pro 2

The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 combines high-resolution imaging with features designed for demanding shooting conditions. It captures detailed 50MP still photos and records 8K video at up to 30fps, while RAW photo support gives you more flexibility when editing images. Leica-developed imaging features and color profiles also provide a distinctive look straight out of the camera.

Inside, the Ace Pro 2 uses a dedicated Pro Imaging Chip alongside a 5nm AI chip to handle image processing and support improved low-light performance. Its wide-angle lens captures expansive scenes, making it useful for cycling, skiing, hiking, and other activities where you want to show more of the environment.

The camera also features FlowState stabilization to help smooth out footage during movement. Its 2.5-inch flip touchscreen makes framing easier for solo creators and vloggers, while a Wind Guard helps reduce wind noise when recording outdoors.

For adventure shooting, the Ace Pro 2 is waterproof to a depth of 39 feet (12 meters) without a separate dive case. Its rugged construction also makes it a practical option for capturing footage in challenging outdoor conditions.

What to Consider Before Buying

Battery life depends heavily on recording resolution, frame rate, temperature, and other settings. Although Insta360 advertises up to 180 minutes under specific test conditions, demanding modes such as 8K recording can drain the battery more quickly. The extra battery in this bundle helps extend shooting time, but it’s still worth carrying a charging option for longer trips.

The Ace Pro 2’s high-resolution recording also requires more storage than standard 4K footage, so make sure you have sufficient space for your clips. And while the camera offers impressive video capabilities, its compact sensor and fixed lens have different strengths and limitations from those of larger-sensor mirrorless cameras.

If you want a compact action camera with high-resolution video, stabilization, and versatile shooting features, the Ace Pro 2 Dual Battery Bundle is a compelling option at $329.
