Brightin Star has announced the MF 11mm f/2.8 II, an updated version of its full-frame fisheye lens. The new model keeps the same ultra-wide perspective but brings refinements to both its optical design and handling.
It’s the latest release from a company that’s been steadily expanding its lineup of affordable manual lenses in recent months.
Same 182° View, With Improvements Under the Hood
The MF 11mm f/2.8 II retains its 182-degree angle of view, giving it that signature fisheye look with strong curvature and exaggerated perspective.
That makes it a creative option for landscapes, architecture, and more experimental compositions. The f/2.8 aperture also opens it up for low-light work, including astrophotography.
Where this updated version differs is in its revised optical formula. The lens now uses 11 elements in eight groups, including four high-refractive index elements, one ED element, and improved multi-layer coatings. Brightin Star says these changes help boost contrast while reducing flare and ghosting.
Fully Manual, With a Focus on Simplicity
Like its predecessor, the lens is fully manual. It uses a rear focusing design, which means the lens barrel doesn’t extend during focusing—something that can make handling smoother and help limit dust intake. The lens can focus as close as 0.17 meters, allowing for dramatic close-up shots with strong foreground emphasis.
On the outside, the lens has been slightly redesigned with a cleaner, more modern look. It features an aluminum body and weighs around 550 grams, keeping it relatively compact for a full-frame fisheye.
A manual focus ring and stepless aperture ring are both included, which may also make it appealing for video shooters.
Pricing and Availability
The Brightin Star MF 11mm f/2.8 II is priced at $249.99 and is now available through major retailers. It’s offered for Nikon Z, Leica L, Canon RF, and Sony E mounts.
Brightin Star is also offering a $20 introductory discount for purchases made through its official store, bringing the initial price down slightly for early buyers.
