Anticipation is building for Fujifilm’s next flagship APS-C camera as new rumors point to an early September announcement for the long-awaited Fujifilm X-T6. If the reports are accurate, photographers attending Fujikina Paris 2026 will be among the first to get their hands on the new camera shortly after its unveiling.

According to Fuji Rumors, the X-T6 is expected to be announced just before Fujikina Paris, which takes place from September 4 to 6, 2026. Rather than being revealed during the event itself, Fujifilm is reportedly planning to introduce the camera through an X Summit livestream, with Fujikina serving as its first major public showcase.

Fujikina to Serve as the X-T6’s Public Debut

Although Fujikina is one of Fujifilm’s largest community events, it is not traditionally used as a product launch venue. Instead, new products are typically announced through dedicated X Summit presentations before attendees have the opportunity to experience them in person.

If the latest rumor proves accurate, visitors to Fujikina Paris will be able to try the X-T6 shortly after its official introduction.

This year’s event is also expected to be particularly significant, reportedly serving as the opening celebration for a year-long program marking the 200th anniversary of photography. Organized by the French Ministry of Culture, Fujikina Paris is expected to feature exhibitions, workshops, and presentations from photographers including Jonas Rask, Eric Bouvet, Alec Soth, Mario Cruz, Bert Stephani, and many others.

What We Know About the Fujifilm X-T6

While Fujifilm has yet to confirm any specifications, several rumors have begun to paint a picture of what the X-T6 may offer.

One of the most intriguing reports suggests the camera will debut with an all-new Film Simulation featuring “really deep and strong colors.” If true, it would mark Fujifilm’s first new Film Simulation since REALA ACE, continuing one of the company’s most distinctive features.

The X-T6 is also rumored to receive redesigned top-plate controls. Sources describe the dials as feeling “even more pleasant” to operate, although it remains unclear whether that refers to revised ergonomics, improved tactile feedback, or changes to the overall layout.

Familiar Sensor, New Processing

Current rumors suggest the X-T6 will continue to use Fujifilm’s 40.2-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, the same sensor found in the X-T5.

The larger upgrade is expected to come from a new X Processor 6, which is rumored to introduce improved AI-powered autofocus performance. The camera is also rumored to gain 8K video recording, representing a significant step up from the X-T5’s video capabilities.

Another reported improvement is a new NP-W255 battery with a 2,550mAh capacity. Compared to the 2,200mAh NP-W235 used in previous generations, the new battery would provide roughly a 16% increase in capacity, potentially translating into longer shooting times.

Pricing and Availability

Fujifilm has not officially announced the X-T6, and no pricing information has surfaced.

However, recent reports indicate that Fujifilm plans to increase prices on several camera models beginning in September, meaning the X-T6 could launch at a higher price than its predecessor if those adjustments extend to new products.

According to current rumors, the Fujifilm X-T6 is expected to be announced during the first week of September, just ahead of Fujikina Paris 2026.
