Viltrox has introduced two new conversion lenses for the Fujifilm X100VI: the TCL-X100VI telephoto converter and the WCL-X100VI wide converter. Despite the naming, both lenses work with every Fujifilm X100 series camera, giving users across all generations a more flexible shooting setup. These new converters arrive as affordable alternatives to Fujifilm’s first-party options from 2017 and come in black and silver finishes to match the classic X100 styling.

Pricing and Availability

The Viltrox TCL-X100VI retails for $189, while the WCL-X100VI is priced at $159. Both are now available through B&H Photo and the Viltrox Online Store.

TCL-X100VI Telephoto Conversion Lens

The TCL-X100VI brings a 1.4x magnification to the X100 series’ fixed 23mm lens, effectively turning it into a 50mm full-frame equivalent. This makes it a strong option for portraits, tighter street shots, and everyday detail work. The lens uses a five-element, four-group design that incorporates two high-refractive-index elements and an extra-low dispersion element to maintain strong optical performance. It weighs 230 grams, extends the camera by 45mm, and supports a 67mm front filter.

When paired with the X100VI’s digital crop modes, the teleconverter can push even further. The 50mm crop mode translates to roughly 70mm with the TCL attached, while the 70mm crop mode reaches close to a 100mm field of view.

WCL-X100VI Wide Conversion Lens

The WCL-X100VI shifts the 23mm lens to a wider 28mm full-frame equivalent by applying a 0.8x reduction. This expands the field of view from about 64 degrees to closer to 75 degrees, matching the angle provided by Fujifilm’s original wide converter. Its optical design also features five elements in four groups with two high-refractive-index elements, and the front element includes a dust- and water-repellent coating for easier maintenance. The lens weighs 130 grams, measures 36.6mm in length, and uses a 49mm filter thread.

Automatic Lens Recognition

Both the TCL-X100VI and WCL-X100VI are automatically recognized by the X100VI, allowing the camera to apply the correct distortion and vignette corrections without any user input.

What We Think

The Fujifilm X100VI combines classic design with top performance, making it a great camera for street and travel photographers. Its 40.2MP X-Trans 5 sensor and fast X-Processor 5 deliver stunning detail and color straight out of camera, while in-body image stabilization keeps handheld shots razor-sharp.

The hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder gives a truly immersive shooting experience, and its fixed 23mm f/2 lens produces beautiful cinematic images. Despite its compact size, it captures 6.2K video and handles low-light scenes with surprising confidence, perfect for photographers who want top-tier image quality in a pocketable, all-in-one design.
