In the market for a long-zoom camera? The Samsung WB1100F might be of interest, although as yet we have relatively little information about the camera.
Based around a 16.2 megapixel CCD image sensor, the Samsung WB1100F offers a sensitivity range of ISO 80 to 3200 equivalents.
The sensor sits behind a 35x optical zoom lens with a 25mm-equivalent wide angle, and a telephoto equivalent in the region of 875mm. Maximum aperture is rather dim, starting at f/3.0 and falling to f/5.9 by telephoto. On the plus side, a dual stabilization system is included, pairing both optical and digital image stabilization.
Images and movies are framed and reviewed on a 3.0-inch, 460K-dot LCD monitor, and shooting modes include Smart and Live Panorama. The Smart mode offers a variety of scene types, including Beauty Face, Action Freeze, Sunset, Landscape, Silhouette, Fireworks, Night, Macro, and Light Trace. Movie resolutions include HD (1,280 x 720 pixels; 720p), VGA (640 x 480), and QVGA (320 x 240). All are captured at 30 frames per second.
Images and movies are stored on Secure Digital cards, including the higher-capacity SDHC and SDXC types. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi wireless networking with support for remote live view, and NFC for easy setup with Android devices. Power comes from an SLB-10A battery.
Body colors for the Samsung WB1100F include black and red. Pricing and availability hadn't been disclosed at press time.
