Best Deals

Also approved by Netflix for its productions, the R5 C is unique in Canon’s lineup. It effectively combines the photo capabilities of the EOS R5 with the endurance and operating system of the Cinema EOS line. It features a 45MP full-frame sensor, 8K/60P internal RAW recording, and an integrated active cooling fan that enables unlimited recording times—solving the overheating limits of the standard R5.

This deal stands out because of the current market. As we have reported, tariffs and rising production costs are forcing camera prices up across the industry. Yet, CamelCamelCamel confirms this is the lowest price ever for the R5 C. While other camera gear is getting more expensive, this professional cinema camera is nearly $1,000 cheaper than its launch price, which makes it the right moment to upgrade your production setup.

Why the Canon EOS R5 C Stands Out

8K RAW video without overheating

Unlike the standard EOS R5, the R5 C features an active cooling system that allows continuous 8K recording, including 8K/60p internal RAW, and 16x the resolution of FHD video. For filmmakers who need long takes, this is a major upgrade. You also get support for HDR recording in Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) and Perceptual Quantization (PQ) formats. You can read more about it in our R5 C review.

A 45MP stills camera hiding inside a cinema body

Despite its cinema focus, the R5 C still delivers 45-megapixel still images, making it a great high-resolution photography tool. It also offers high-speed continuous shooting, up to 12 fps with mechanical shutter and up to 20 fps with the electronic shutter. That makes it especially appealing for hybrid shooters who need both detailed photos and professional video from one body.

Cinema EOS features in a compact form

The R5 C borrows heavily from Canon’s Cinema EOS line, including advanced video codecs, timecode support, and dedicated video menus. Yet it remains far more compact than traditional cinema cameras, making it ideal for solo operators and travel productions.

RF mount flexibility for modern shooters

Using Canon’s RF mount gives shooters access to Canon’s latest high-performance lenses. If you already own RF glass, or plan to build a kit around it, the R5 C fits seamlessly into that ecosystem.

Who Is This Deal For and Is It a Good Time to Buy?

This deal is for professional filmmakers, hybrid content creators, and serious YouTubers who want uncompromised video performance without giving up stills performance. It’s especially compelling for creators who need 8K capture but can’t justify a much larger or expensive cinema camera.

With a $900 discount dropping the price to $2,999, this is one of the best prices we have ever seen for this camera on Amazon. Because of prices rising across the industry due to tariffs and supply-chain pressure, this is the right time to buy this capable hybrid camera.
