DJI’s next-generation mid-range drone may be one step closer to launch. A new report from TechAvid claims the DJI Air 4 has appeared in a Chinese certification database, suggesting the drone has entered the final stages of development.

While the listing doesn’t reveal any specifications, products typically receive certification shortly before launch, making the filing another indication that the Air 4 could arrive sometime in 2026.

The certification follows an earlier report that the Air 4 was spotted in a Chinese flight application, hinting that DJI may already be conducting flight testing on the upcoming drone.

Rumored DJI Air 4 Upgrades

Although DJI has not officially announced the Air 4, several rumors have surfaced over the past few months regarding its potential features.

One of the biggest rumored changes is a redesigned airframe, which is expected to improve aerodynamics. If accurate, the redesign could contribute to higher flight speeds, better wind resistance, and longer flight times.

The Air 4 is also rumored to receive an upgraded obstacle avoidance system. DJI has increasingly incorporated LiDAR technology into its latest aircraft to improve obstacle detection in low-light environments, and similar technology could make its way into the Air series.

The camera system may also receive a notable upgrade. Reports suggest DJI is placing greater emphasis on low-light performance, potentially through a larger image sensor or a brighter lens. While no specifications have been confirmed, either improvement would benefit both photographers and videographers shooting at sunrise, sunset, or after dark.

If these rumors prove accurate, the Air 4 could appeal to a broader audience, ranging from hobbyists to professional content creators. The Air series has traditionally occupied the middle ground between DJI’s Mini lineup and its flagship Mavic models, offering a balance of portability, performance, and price.

As with all pre-release rumors, these reported specifications should be treated with caution until DJI makes an official announcement.

Other Rumored DJI Products

The Air 4 isn’t the only DJI product reportedly in development.

Rumors continue to point toward the arrival of the DJI Avata 3, the company’s next-generation FPV drone. Reports suggest it could feature a larger image sensor, improved dynamic range, enhanced low-light performance, longer flight times, and upgraded stabilization technology.

DJI is also rumored to be developing a new semi-professional drone under the internal codename N610BS. The aircraft is expected to bridge the gap between DJI’s consumer drones and its enterprise lineup.

Meanwhile, reports indicate the DJI Osmo Action 7 is also in development. The next-generation action camera is rumored to feature a larger sensor, improved HDR performance, longer battery life, and new AI-assisted shooting modes aimed at creators and outdoor enthusiasts.

If even some of these reports prove accurate, DJI could have a busy product roadmap ahead. For now, however, the company has not officially confirmed any of these products, so the information should be viewed as speculation until more concrete details emerge.
