Meike has released a new lens in its MIX series of fast autofocus primes. The AF 58mm F1.2 MIX is now available for Nikon Z, Sony E, and Fujifilm X-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras.
Designed for APS-C sensors, the lens provides a full-frame equivalent focal length of approximately 87mm, putting it close to the classic 85mm portrait range. Combined with its fast F1.2 maximum aperture, the lens is positioned for portraiture, event photography, and low-light shooting.
Fast F1.2 Aperture and APO-Level Optical Design
The optical construction consists of 14 elements in 10 groups. Meike says the design balances fine detail and resolving power, with support for cameras offering resolutions of up to 60 megapixels.
The company also describes the lens as having an APO-level optical design intended to suppress chromatic aberrations and purple fringing. This should help produce cleaner edges and more natural color transitions.
Autofocus is handled by a high-speed STM motor, which Meike says delivers fast, precise, and quiet focusing. The lens also supports eye and face detection autofocus with compatible cameras, helping keep subjects in focus.
The minimum focusing distance is 0.62 meters, allowing photographers to work relatively close to their subjects for tighter portraits.

Customizable Controls and Compact Design
Despite its fast maximum aperture, the AF 58mm F1.2 MIX remains relatively compact. It weighs 450g and measures 90mm in length.
The lens features both a manual focus ring and an aperture ring. The aperture ring can be clicked or de-clicked, making it suitable for photographers as well as video creators who prefer smooth, silent adjustments.
Other controls include a customizable Fn button, an AF/MF switch, and an aperture ring lock to prevent accidental adjustments. A USB-C port is also included for firmware updates, while the front of the lens accepts standard 62mm filters.
The new AF 58mm F1.2 MIX joins the AF 85mm F1.4 MIX, which Meike introduced earlier this year.
Pricing and Availability
The Meike AF 58mm F1.2 MIX is priced at $449 and is now available through the Meike online store and B&H Photo.
