Pancake lenses have been gaining popularity, and Pergear is joining the trend with its new 10mm F/5.6 II pancake fisheye lens. Designed for APS-C and Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, the compact manual-focus lens offers a 172-degree angle of view and costs just $69.
The ultra-wide fisheye perspective introduces pronounced distortion, exaggerating shapes and spatial relationships in a scene. This makes the lens an option for creative architectural, landscape, street, and even portrait photography.
The lens can focus as close as 0.15 meters, allowing photographers to place subjects near the front element while retaining a wide view of the surrounding scene.
Compact Metal Construction
Despite its all-metal construction, the Pergear 10mm F/5.6 II weighs just 120 grams and measures 50mm in diameter and 32mm in length. Its compact design makes it easy to carry as an everyday lens.
The lens also features a built-in petal-shaped hood, which helps reduce stray light and provides some protection for the front element.
Its optical design consists of six elements in five groups, with a multilayer coating intended to help suppress flare and ghosting. Pergear says the design delivers good contrast and color reproduction, including in challenging lighting conditions.

Manual Focus and Fixed Aperture
The 10mm F/5.6 II is a manual-focus lens with a smooth focusing ring for adjusting focus. It has no electronic contacts, so the camera cannot record lens information in image EXIF data.
One limitation is its fixed F/5.6 aperture. Photographers cannot adjust the aperture to control exposure or depth of field, and the relatively slow maximum aperture may make the lens less suitable for low-light photography.
Available for Multiple Camera Mounts
The lens is available for Sony E, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, Canon EF-M, Canon RF, and Micro Four Thirds mounts.
On APS-C cameras, its 10mm focal length provides an angle of view comparable to that of a 15mm lens on a full-frame camera. On Micro Four Thirds, the crop factor produces a full-frame-equivalent focal length of approximately 20mm. The fisheye projection remains a defining characteristic, however, so these equivalents describe the field of view rather than making the lens behave like a conventional rectilinear wide-angle lens.
Pricing and Availability
The Pergear 10mm F/5.6 II pancake fisheye lens is available now for $69 through the Pergear online store and major retailers like Amazon. It is offered in Sony E, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, Canon EF-M, Canon RF, and Micro Four Thirds mounts.
