Aside from the FCC filings, DJI has largely kept details of the upcoming Neo 2 under wraps. However, several images of the ultra-light drone have now leaked online, revealing new design changes and upgraded features.

The images were shared by reliable leaker Igor Bogdanov, who also revealed a few key specs that give us a glimpse into what to expect from the compact drone.

What We Know So Far About the DJI Neo 2

The leaks show several incremental upgrades over the first-generation Neo. One of the most noticeable changes is the battery placement, now positioned on top — similar to DJI’s larger drones. This upgraded battery reportedly offers 15% more capacity, giving the Neo 2 an extended flight time of up to 19 minutes.

Another major change is the addition of a new infrared LiDAR sensor, which enhances obstacle avoidance and subject tracking. This advanced system, previously seen in higher-end models like the Mavic 4 Pro and Mini 5 Pro, appears to be making its way into the Neo line. DJI has also included upward and backward-facing cameras for safer flights and improved smart return capabilities.

Other upgrades include a redesigned propeller system for quieter operation and a new transceiver for improved connectivity. The drone can connect to DJI remotes via OcuSync, though Wi-Fi control remains available for short-range flights.

From one of the leaked images, it also appears that the Neo 2 will remain compatible with DJI Goggles 3 and the Motion Controller, meaning existing owners won’t need to buy new accessories.

DJI Neo 2 Release Date and Price

DJI has reportedly teased the Neo 2 announcement for October 30, 2025, though the teaser was only briefly shown on the company’s main Instagram account.

Pricing details haven’t been confirmed yet, but early reports suggest it will be slightly more expensive than the first-generation model due to the upgraded battery and sensors. Given that the Neo line’s appeal has always been its affordability, it will be interesting to see how DJI balances cost and performance this time around.

We’ll continue to monitor updates as more information becomes available in the lead-up to launch.
