Godox has officially announced an update to its popular AD300 Pro, introducing the new AD300 Pro II all-in-one flash. Also sold as the Flashpoint Xplor 300 Pro II at select retailers, the updated strobe is now available for pre-order with a price set at $499.
Arriving roughly five years after the original AD300 Pro, the second-generation model keeps the same 300Ws output in a compact, location-friendly form factor. It’s clearly aimed at photographers who need a portable but capable strobe for on-location work, delivering up to 350 full-power flashes on a single charge. Recycle times range from a quick 0.01 seconds to 1.5 seconds, depending on the selected power level.
“With 300Ws of output, a rapid 0.01–1.5 s recycle time at full power, and roughly 350 flashes per charge at maximum output, the AD300 Pro II delivers sustained performance for extended location shoots,” Godox says. “That means fewer interruptions, fewer battery swaps, and more usable frames during long assignments — minimal downtime and more decisive shots.”
Key Features and Upgrades
One of the headline upgrades is improved wireless connectivity. When paired with the new Godox X3 or X3 Pro wireless triggers, the AD300 Pro II supports one-tap wireless sync, allowing photographers to connect the flash instantly without manually setting channels or groups. The strobe remains fully compatible with other Godox X-series transmitters, as well as 3.5mm sync cables and USB-C connections.
Godox has also expanded power control, increasing the range from nine stops to ten. This gives shooters finer control over flash output, especially helpful when balancing ambient light on location.
Flash duration has seen a major improvement as well. The AD300 Pro II now offers a minimum flash duration of 1/24,390s, a significant jump from the 1/10,200s of the original model. This makes the new version better suited for freezing fast action, particularly when paired with high-speed electronic shutters. Godox also claims improved color stability, with color temperature drift kept under 100K.
The modeling light has been upgraded to a bi-color LED, adjustable from 2800K to 6000K. Unlike the original AD300 Pro, which lacked color temperature control, the new version allows photographers to better preview lighting and match ambient conditions before firing the flash.
Physically, the AD300 Pro II remains compact and portable, weighing about 1.2 kilograms with the battery installed and measuring 18.7 × 10 × 9 centimeters. The control layout is familiar, with buttons, dials, and an LCD screen positioned at the rear of the unit.
While Godox offers a range of proprietary light modifiers, users can expand compatibility via optional adapters. The S3 bracket allows the use of Bowens-mount accessories, while the AD-AB adapter enables compatibility with Broncolor, Profoto, and Elinchrom modifiers.
The AD300 Pro II supports TTL functionality across all major camera systems, including Nikon, Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, OM System, Panasonic, Leica, and Pentax, when paired with compatible Godox X-series triggers.
