A newly leaked image suggests DJI is preparing to launch the Osmo 360 II, the successor to its first 360-degree action camera. According to the leak, the new camera has already begun arriving at distributor warehouses, indicating that an official announcement may not be far away.
Reliable leaker Igor Bogdanov shared an image on X showing what appears to be replacement lens kits labeled for the DJI Osmo 360 II. He added that the “Osmo 360 Version 2 is already starting to arrive in warehouses,” hinting that shipments are underway ahead of launch.
While the image doesn’t reveal the camera itself, it does suggest one significant upgrade over the original model.
User-Replaceable Lenses
If the leaked replacement lens kits are genuine, the Osmo 360 II will likely feature user-replaceable lenses.
That would be a notable improvement over the original Osmo 360, whose fixed lenses were one of its biggest drawbacks. Replaceable lenses have become an increasingly important feature for 360-degree cameras, particularly after the Insta360 X5 introduced swappable lens modules that allow users to replace damaged lenses instead of sending the entire camera in for repairs.

What We Know So Far
Another leak shared by The New Camera reportedly shows the Osmo 360 II during testing alongside the original Osmo 360. In the image, tape covering one of the cameras has partially peeled away, revealing the “360 II” branding.
Current rumors suggest the new camera will retain the original model’s 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor and optical design. However, filings with the FCC indicate it could receive a larger 2,150mAh battery, up from the 1,950mAh battery used in the first-generation Osmo 360.
Reports also suggest the camera will support 8K video recording at 60 fps, a modest improvement over the original model’s 8K50 recording mode.
Beyond those upgrades, the Osmo 360 II is expected to receive only minor refinements to its overall design and ergonomics, making this a relatively iterative update rather than a complete redesign.

Competition With the Insta360 X6
The Osmo 360 II is expected to arrive as competition in the 360-degree camera market continues to intensify.
Early rumors suggest the upcoming Insta360 X6 will adopt a noticeably more compact body, bringing it closer in size to DJI’s Osmo 360. If accurate, the redesign would mark the biggest change to Insta360’s flagship series since the original X camera.
The X6 is also rumored to receive several hardware upgrades, including a larger 1-inch sensor for improved image quality and low-light performance. Reports have also pointed to 8K50 video recording, putting it in direct competition with DJI’s rumored specifications.
Pricing and Availability
DJI has not announced when the Osmo 360 II will be unveiled, but recent leaks suggest a launch could take place within the next few months. Some reports speculate that DJI may target a release window around August or September, roughly matching the expected launch timeframe for the Insta360 X6.
As with all pre-release reports, these details remain rumors until officially confirmed by DJI.
