It looks increasingly possible that Fujifilm will end 2026 without introducing a new X-series camera. According to new rumors, the highly anticipated Fujifilm X-T6 has been delayed again, potentially pushing its announcement beyond November.

According to Fuji Rumors, a planned November 19 announcement has reportedly been removed from Fujifilm’s calendar. Sources familiar with the matter told the publication that the expected launch is no longer scheduled for that date, leading the insider to speculate that there will be no X-T6 announcement this month.

Fujifilm X-T6 Misses Another Expected Launch Window

The X-T6 was previously rumored to make its debut in September during a Fujifilm event. Expectations also increased ahead of a B&H Photo event focused on Fujifilm products, but the event ultimately brought only the announcement of the new XF 400mm F4.5 lens.

Fuji Rumors speculates that the ongoing memory shortage could be one reason behind the latest delay. According to the publication, the limited availability of memory components is having a negative impact on Fujifilm’s operations.

Fujifilm has not officially confirmed the X-T6 or announced a product launch schedule. The lack of a new X-series camera announcement in 2026 would be unusual for the company. Its most recent X-series camera announcement was the X-E5 in June 2025.

What We Know About the Rumored Fujifilm X-T6

Although Fujifilm has yet to confirm the camera, Fuji Rumors has previously shared information about the upcoming mirrorless model, including leaked technical sketches and rumored specifications.

The X-T6 is expected to feature a new 40-megapixel sensor with AI-powered autofocus capabilities, potentially paired with a sixth-generation image processor. The camera is also rumored to support 8K video recording.

Other reported changes include redesigned top-plate dials and new Film Simulation modes. The latter would be particularly interesting for Fujifilm users, as the company has gone several years without introducing new Film Simulations.

These details remain unconfirmed, and it is unclear when Fujifilm will officially reveal the camera.

Fujifilm’s 2026 Has Been Focused on Instax

Fujifilm has not been inactive this year. The company introduced several Instax products in 2026, including the Instax Mini Evo 2 and Instax Pal 2. However, it has yet to announce a new X-series or GFX-series camera.

That would be a notable departure from 2025, when Fujifilm introduced the GFX100RF, X Half, and X-E5.

If the X-T6 does not arrive before the end of the year, Fujifilm could finish 2026 without a new interchangeable-lens camera announcement. The company may be leaning more heavily on its Instax business this year, although it remains to be seen whether the rumored X-T6 delay will extend into 2027.
